Educational philosophy
It is the Inter-Architecture department’s tradition that the first year students design and build the graduation exhibition. The graduating students thoroughly brief the first year students and explain exactly what they require for the exhibition.

The goal is to experience what it’s like to work together with a client and to deliver a project within a given timeframe and budget. In addition to their other projects, which are usually very conceptual and not always feasible, this project is very practical and realistic. Students will see their designs realised at full 1:1 scale.

Methodology
It involves practical requirements such as the number of tables or walls but also the desired atmosphere and appearance. First year students develop a concept for the exhibition that gets presented to the graduating students. After approval from the ‘client’ the design gets refined and detailed.

A model and architectural drawings are used to work out the layout of the exhibition and prototypes of exhibition furniture are produced. In mid-June the first year students spend two weeks building the exhibition.

Assignment
Design and produce the yearly graduation exhibition.
