APPLICATION BERLAGE FUND FOR FINAL YEAR STUDENTS
Application Berlagefonds
Application Berlagefonds for final year students
Dear student,
The Berlagefonds is the school fund of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Students, teachers, staff and friends of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie donate money to this fund. The funds supports projects that are important for the academy but are not or insufficient subsidised by the government. Also this year money will be available for graduation projects. All final year students can apply for a donation from the fund. Only a limited number of projects will be funded. Around 8 projects will be funded for a total amount of € 6.000,- Around the beginning we will inform all applicants personally about the results of the selections.
This initiative serves another cause. A lot of students will be confronted with applications for grants, subsidies etc. after graduation. So, this is a good way to practice such an application.
An independ committee, which will consist of 4 members, will review the applications and award the donations. The committee selects the proposals. They will judge on:
- the concept
- originality
- presentation
- budget
In order to be eligible for a donation, you must meet the following requirements:
- Use the application form (downloadable: >>here).
- The application should describe the project, motivation, presentation. Also include a budget.
- You must have fulfilled your financial obligations to the academy.
- Deadline is March 2nd 2009. Notice: this deadline is strict! Applications received after March 2nd 2009 will not be reviewed. You can send your application to Wieneke Mulder. By mail: wmulder@grac.nl, or deliver it in my room (no. 122, main building).
The Berlagefonds expects you to invest a minimum amount of € 1.150,- in your final exam project.
The committee also invites painters for the Edith van der Aa price. Edith van der Aa was a former Rietveld student who passed away at a young age. Her parents set up a fund which is sheltered by the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
Finally, this application also serves another cause. After graduation a lot of students will be confronted with applications for grants, subsidies etc. This is a good way to practice for such an application. On www.beroepkunstenaar.nl you can find tips to help you with your application.
Returning documentation:
Documentation that is not picked up within a month after the publication of the donations, will be thrown away.
Good luck!
All the best,
Wieneke Mulder
